COVOID 19

Co Void is a duet with two woman who sit on a bench and drink water.

This was symbolic of the COVID 19 lockdowns that we experienced. Nowhere to go, no restaurants open just a bench to sit on outside and drink a glass of water.

The bench became a platform for self-expression and gave us a language of movement that was inspired by the time and place we were at.

The bench is deconstructed and then reconstructed. It was taken apart, broken up into pieces and then is built back to make it a comfortable place for contemplation and conversation. It became a serving board for emotions of sadness, uncertainty and boredom. The bench also gave us support. 

The music of Eric Satie consolidates the work in its solitude and abject loneliness.
